But instead, the nuns’ slow demolition of the derelict house on the property awakens an old curse—the ghost of a woman who died tragically there over a century before. The youngest of the novices, who has been deeply traumatized by past events, seems to be the ghost’s particular target. Meanwhile, the building work is plagued by a series of accidents and by opposition from a party in the town. When a young workman falls to his death, Emily must confront the possibility that her favorite novice may be responsible.
